Let me introduce myself. My name is Joanne & I am a graduate from the New York School of Dog Grooming. I have been grooming for 18 years. After graduation I worked in Manhatten where I learned to hand scissor & create an artistic ability. I have worked for privite shops & a corporation which I was the grooming manager.
Here at Doggie Island we give your pets individual care & attention. If your friend needs special care just let us know. After all each animal has different personalities which makes them all original. Just like their personalities differ so do their skin & coats. We offer high quality shampoo-medicated;all natural products;oatmeal & a remoisterizer that rejuvenates your friends skin & helps to loosen the undercoat. No heat elemated dryers are used! When your pal is done we never cage them, instead we have an open picket fence holding area.We try to make grooming a pleasurable experience for both of you.
Our grooming package includes teeth brushing, which ever shampoo is required, a blueberry facial scrub, expressing the anal gland, haircut, ears & nails.

  “I have a 14yr old cantankerous toy poodle with skin problems and Joanne actually reasons with him that it's in his best interest to be groomed. It took her awhile but she calmed down his 'anger' towards her and allowed her to groom him. She's wonderful with all types of dogs and their unique personalities. She's also very talented at finding the best cut for each dog.”

  “My vet recommended Doggie Island and I'm glad i made the appointment. Joanne took her time to give my doggies puppy cuts and it looks great! The other groomer that i used to take them to didn't do a great job and they seemed unhappy when i picked them up. When i picked my dogs up this afternoon, they seemed happy!

  “The grooming is great & my dog comes out looking like a show dog every time. Only reason it kept me from giving 3 stars is my dog is very skiddish about me leaving him. He's gone to other groomers and was always happy about it. Just worries me a little as to why he acts the way he does.”
