  “just took my baby girls Roxie and Casey to the groomers there for the first time since they have the new owners and they came out prancing and very happy my girl Roxie had a shave for the first time and was very happy they did an excellent job happy all around”

  Took a Cocker to a Kill Shelter

  “Christmas Freckles is a 3 year old buff female cocker girl,20 lbs with no health issues at all. She is house broken and well behaved. She lost her first home thru no fault of her own when her owner was placed in a nursing home by family. We took her in to one of our foster homes. Her foster said she was wonderful. We adopted her out to a retired injured Police officer named Jim Krieger. He was in a wheelchair. He said she was wonderful and I will forward you his email. This man's health took a turn for the worse and he died in June 2014. Again she had lost her home thru no fault of her own. Jim's nephew handled his affairs. He notified the groomer Jim had used since he adopted Freckles. The lady that bathed the dogs BEGGED him for the dog. He explained to her that the dog was to be returned to FCSR. She BEGGED AGAIN AND AGAIN. He said he agreed with the clear understanding that she would call him or FCSR to come get the dog if she ever could not keep the dog. He is willing to sign a statement regarding this agreement. He happened to run into this woman a week or so ago. He asked about the dog. She said oh she was too nippy with the children and she had turned her into the kill shelter 2 days before.He was so upset. He drove straight to Hillsborough County Animal Services to get her. Pawsitively Adorable Pet staff had turned her in as aggressive therefore they could not release the dog to him. He called me the next day. I immediately went and picked her up. Thankfully HCAS is a shelter that is working hard to save dogs and does not just put them down.. They had already assessed this dog was very adoptable in spite of these people trying to have her put down.They had assessed her and realized she was not aggressive. They had already moved her into general adoptions when I got there to pick her up.I called this grooming salon. The employee that did this answered. When I asked why she did not call FCSR or the owners nephew to come pick up the dog she acknowledged she had promised to call him or FCSR but her excuse was I couldn't find your number or his. The owner/groomer called me back the next day and left a message. She said did not appreciate me calling all upset, that she totally agreed the dog was not adoptable.She was aware of the agreement to have the dog returned to the owners nephew or FCSR and yet agreed with her employee the dog needed to go to the kill shelter. Jim loved this dog and ,had no problems with her.He trusted her to these people's care for grooming on a regular schedule. I'm sure he would turn over in his grave if he knew what she did to the dog he so loved.The owner/groomers comment to me was that dog had 5 months to learn to like children. Please post for all to see her total lack of insight or understanding of dogs.How could anyone that works with dogs everyday think you can make a dog like small children? Why would anyone who realizes a dog is not good with small children repeatedly place a dog with small children to make her learn to like them? Please be sure all who read our page know how this owner/groomer treated a dog that had lost 2 homes that loved her thru no fault of her own and rather than pick up a phone and say come pick up the dog she decided she would rather see the dog dead.I want all to see how she so disrespected a client that trusted them to the point of trying to have his dog put down. They did not keep their word or promises, acknowledged that they did not and just didn't care.. These people have demonstrated the lack of any understanding about dogs and demonstrated a total lack of any compassion for what a dog goes thru.Please advise the public so they can keep their dogs safe.FCSR asks everyone to please avoid using Pawsitively Adorable Pet Grooming and spread the word.
