  “This business is not reputable at all - please do not trust her with your cat or dog.
  
  I took my Maine Coon to be groomed by Lesa after finding that she groomed cats. He has been groomed many times--every 6 months for the past 6 years--but the closest cat groomer is in downtown Houston, so I decided to try Lesa. Just to clarify, I do not get my cat shaved, but I take him to the groomer for a bath, nail trimming, and a sanitary cut--trimming the long fur around the genitals.
  
  Although she sounds trustworthy on the phone, once arriving at her place, red flags started appearing. First, she promised me that she reserves one day a week for cats, which I thought would be much less stressful for my cat--no barking dogs. However, once I got there, I could hear dogs. I assumed they were her own and were in the house, not the grooming area, but I asked anyway. She ignored my question, but when I asked to walk him into the grooming area (which is her garage), she told me that I couldn't, because I would have to walk past the dogs. She also did not look at his shot records, which is alarming because groomers and boarders are legally required to obtain current shot records from each client.
  
  At that point, I should have taken him and left, but thinking she was an experienced groomer, I decided to trust her. I told her that he had always been well-behaved during grooming, but that blow dryers scare him and not to use one, just to towel-dry him. I told her that I didn't mind if his fur was still wet when I picked him up. She said she understood, then took him in and promised to call me when he was done.
  
  I picked him up after she called two hours later. Again, she brought him out to my car and refused to allow me to see inside her facility. I was horrified at how he looked. He smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, his fur and nails had not been clipped at all, and he was only slightly damp. I asked what happened, and she said that she had to bathe him twice because he peed during the first blow drying. I asked why she had blow dried him after we had agreed not to, and she said she had forgotten, but that he acted fine when she dried him after the second bath. I asked about the sanitary cut, and she said that she had done it, although it was obvious that she had not. Lastly, I asked about his nails, and she said that he was declawed. I have absolutely no idea how she could have thought that--his claws are large, and he was very visibly digging them into my jacket because he was afraid.
  
  Overall, I paid Lesa $35 to scare my cat. Absolutely no services were provided, and I had to bathe him again at home with baby shampoo to get the cigarette smell out of his fur. Please do not subject your animal to this treatment.
  
  Lastly, if you are considering boarding with her, please look at her website (I won't link to it, but it can be found by googling the business name), and most importantly--ask for a tour of her place before you agree to leave your animal there. Don't make the same mistake I did of leaving your family member (even for 2 hours!) in a place you haven't seen.
  
  One more thing--please be skeptical. The only way to be sure about a groomer is by physically seeing the facility and watching the process. I've now discovered that all reputable groomers will let you watch the session if you ask to.”
