  “This place is NOT what is seems. You will be taken through the facility and shown a great room with pool table and spacious yards etc.. don t be fooled, they ARE not allowed to lounge, they are taken out in groups, allowed time to do their business and right back into the kennel/room they go until lunch, dinner etc. At first sign of stomach upset they are medicated with metronidazole WITHOUT the owner being called or asked, Benadryl for nervous or allergic dogs , again no permission. The owner claims that this is with permission of her Veterinarian but I don't see any vet risking his license by giving RX medications to patients without having ever seen them .The owner claims so have been a nurse for some years and knows what is best... oblivious to the matter at hand .Even if you bring your dogs own food it is watered down and mixed with canned food to entice the animals to eat if nervous etc. which turns most dogs off in addition to causing diarrhea itself. Honestly the business is a joke in whole- the owner uses the facility as a place to store her 25+ dogs that she breeds . Visit their Facebook page and witness the frequency of new puppies for sale yourself ....Don' t take my word for it, take a tour and pay close attention to what you see and more importantly what you don t see! When offering this information in the past the owner claimed disgruntled employee. I worked there, yes, That is how I know all of this but I left of my own will and without notice because as a vet tech I know it's wrong. Her reply here ( again claiming a veterinarian gives orders for the prescription medication to be given without having seen the animal- but doesnt dispute that she doesnt ask owners)-

  This sounds like a disgruntled former employee who didn't make it here at Benji's and was fired. Obviously she is not knowledgeable as to the Benji's operation and the standing orders that we have from our local vet regarding medical treatment. As an R.N. my primary focus is the health and well-being of the pet. If we can solve minor problems with the direction of the vet it is done. The dog gets better, unnecessary vet bills are avoided and everyone is happy. We have standing orders form our vet to try certain medications such a Metronidazole(Flagyl), Benadryl, or Pepto Bismol for minor stomach problems or anxiousness. If this doesn't work then we take the dog to the vet. As to my dachshunds-they are loved by all and they have their own suites which are the same for the boarding dogs and they go out and play several hours a day.”
