  “Aggression of any kind towards people that are no threat is NEVER an acceptable breed trait! I've owned & trained Akitas for many years & they tend to have this reputation...mainly due to uneducated owners that don't discipline or train their dogs. They hide behind their Big Bad Breed. Just because you read a few paragraphs on Wikipedia does not make you an expert on the breed! Any dog should be taught to recognize a threat, a bad vibe, but also that not all people are threats! That's how innocent people get hurt and dogs get destroyed. If you continue to allow/excuse this type of behavior, your dog WILL bite someone and it will be YOUR fault! The only lesson you taught your dog by reacting this way is biting and throwing fits gets him exactly what he wants! You merely reinforced his bad behavior. People like that shouldn't own a dominant/aggression-prone dog!”

  “I would like to say that this pet owner informed me that because his dog was a breed that stranger aggression was an acceptable breed trait!! I asked him to bring the pup back in for training grooms every 3 weeks for a few visits so that the dog would learn that we weren't going to hurt him and the owner came unglued. After he informed me that I had no idea what I was talking about and that I needed to research his dog breed online I will admit that I was rude and told him to never come back to my shop again. I value the dogs safety and the safety of myself and employees much more than being nice to an owner that doesn't want to hear that he is raising an aggressive dog.”

  “Do not use this dog groomer. The owner needs to change the name to The Know it All Dog Trainer. The owner was really rude and tried to give me training lessons on my dog. Normally I'd appreciate the help but she was rude about it and wouldn't let me talk. My 6 month old puppy got scared and snapped at them when they used the dryer. It was his first time there. Again I want to stress that it wasn't that she offered help, it was the way she went about it. Even the owner's assistant apologized when she walked away.”
