comment to Ms. Schnauzer mom

“Good evening, Ms. Schnauzer Lover, I feel that I need to respond to your accusations in this 'review'. When you dropped off your dog on a Friday in June, you instructed us as follows: Do not trim his furnishings, feathering, skirt or chest, do his back and head only. I would like to have him grow longer. We groomed your dog to your very own specifications. I took notes as you were talking and have them on your dogs' card. That very day we had a Certified Master Groomer, (also has shown dogs, bred champion dogs and judged dogs) working with us giving us helpful tips when competing in the groom ring. I told you when you picked up your dog that he was used as our demo dog (groomed by the Certified Master Groomer) and you seemed delighted and said the clip was fine. Since you asked that we not trim his skirt, feathering, furnishings or chest, we simply brushed them out and neatened up the ends of his skirt. There were SIX certified groomers (all attended and graduated grooming school and are now certified groomers) watching as your dog was being groomed that day. You returned late Tuesday afternoon, (four days later) to complain. At no time did I ever blame you for cutting your own dog. All I said was that the cut on your dogs neck did not happen in our shop, and that we groomed your dog to your own specifications, (you complained about his chest being too long, but you told us NOT to trim or cut it). You took it upon yourself to take the blame for cutting your dog. The knick on your dogs neck did not occur in our shop because the knick you showed me appeared as an old scar. The knick was a straight line, directly above the dogs Adams apple, (where the jaw meets the neck). The old scar you showed me was a very straight line, almost like the dog was caught on something, (perhaps a fence or something else he may have scratched his neck on). There is no way a groom clipper made the old scar you showed me on your dogs neck. I offered to change your dogs chest (shortening it, which we were specifically asked NOT to do) before you left, but you would not listen. The invitation remains open to put your dog into a proper Schnauzer cut, or to just shorten up the dogs chest. I stand by the work we do in our shop, and if you are not happy, we will regroom or redo the groom in an effort to change things to the way our customers would like their pets to look, and, YES, even four days later. I would even love to welcome you to stay to watch your dog being groomed on a day that we are not too busy. If you choose to refuse my offers, I hope you can find another groomer that can make you happy with the specific Schnauzer cut you prefer. I'm sure that you will complain about your last groomer just as you did when we first met you. As to your comments about not caring about animals, all of us at the shop care about each and every one of the pets that we groom. We all cry when one of our customers passes away, (pets and people). Everyone at the shop, groomers, bathers and our front desk help are all volunteers at various shelters and rescues. We foster pets in need in our very own homes as well as the shop. We all have multiple rescue pets and have even adopted pets from ailing customers. All of groomers, bathers and front desk personnel at our shop have several pets, not just limited to dogs or cats. I am a licensed wildlife rehabber and rescuer, so when you say we do not care about animals or pets, you are sorely misguided. I ask you to please do your research the next time you make your incorrect, inflated and accusatory comments about our shop and our groomers.”

“They cut my dog & didnt even tell me!!! I noticed my dog was cut on his neck, under near chin area. I took my dog back because I didn't like the way she trimmed his chest area, I was told that is the way it is done & they denied cutting my dog!! Is this the way you treat dog/customers? They didn't even care. Why would you take your dog to someone like this? All they want is the $$$$..how sad..don't go here, they lie!!! I didnt ask for my $$ back, just wanted hair to be trimmed correctly & of course to admit they cut my dog..which they wont do. They just don't care!!!!”
