    “Thanks to Dr. Winton and Dr. Williams for their individualized attention and for answering all of my questions. They took their time addressing my concerns about my dogs and I didn't feel rushed as if they were hurrying to get on to the next customer.

    The grooming service is also excellent. It's really convenient to have the vet and the grooming facilities together in the same building.”

    “Hayley is my Bichon Frise that has been grommed @ A&AH for all of her 3 1/2 years. Not only does Carrie do a magnificent job of pampering her, but I'm comforted by the fact that A&AH is a medical facility as well. I know that if Carrie, or any of the other groomers detects anything out of sorts with Hayley, there are trained personnel on staff ready to examine her. I feel as though she gets a mini-physical every visit! Keep up the great work!”

    “Our three year old Yorkie, Winn-DIxie, is extremely high energy and requires someone who's particularly patient and caring, that's why we've been taking her to Animal and Avian Hospital since she was 8 weeks old. The staff there are very kind and loving towards everyone. Carrie takes extra special care of our baby and has nicknamed her Spin-DIxie on account of her doing 360's when she gets her tubby. I tell everyone there that she does this constantly when she's at home! I can't imagine taking our lil Spin-DIxie anywhere else for care. She always looks and smells amazing when we pick her up and seems quite happy as well. I have and will continue to recommend your animal hospital to anyone I can. Thank you so much for taking care of our baby. She loves you and so do we!”

    “Our dog is a cocker spaniel her name is sugar because she is truly sweet. She's very old and Carrie and the docs at Animal and Avian Hospital have always given us the best care when needed. She was originally my sister's dog who had her from birth My sister passed away at a very young age, so my mom adopted sugar. A few years later my mom passed so my husband and I adopted sugar because she had already been in the family for so long and we could not part. When Carrie has something to do that requires her not to be there she preps me with who will be taking care of sugar while shes gone they all seem to understand her age and her comfort level and I thank Carrie and the docs and the whole crew because it takes a good crew to work together.”

    “I have been taking my Sheltie to AA to be groomed since he was a pup. The groomers have always been very nice and professional and have followed my directions as to how I wanted the dog to be groomed. It is also great that should an ear infection etc. occur, my dog can be seen the same day by the vet. You are doing a great job!!!”

    “After bringing our 5 month old yorkie home we needed a vet and a groomer. Animal and Avian came highly reccommended and we have not been disappointed. They are wonderful! Carrie takes care of Maddie as if she is her own. When Maddie has been ill Carrie goes into the hospital area to check on her and give her comfort. We recently adopted a rescue yorkie. Mikey came to us with cuts all over his body from matting. Carrie has been gentle with him and has given us exercises to do at home to help him overcome his fear of being groomed. Now when Mikey goes to get groomed he sits in Carrie's arms and gives her kisses with his tail wagging. Animal and Avian Hospital is a wonderful caring place to take your dogs. I highly reccommend them and have sent several friends there who are equally pleased.”

    Good Vet, Bad Groomer

    “I have gone to this vet for as long as I can remember (over 20 years) and never had a problem.

    The grooming however is another story. I own a dog that needs trimmed and groomed. When I brought my dog in they said no problem and took her back. After I got to work I received a call saying she needed shaved. It was January! They were not willing to comb the mats out. I was treated rudely on the phone. I was not given a understandable explanation. I decided to do it myself if they weren't willing to. I came and picked my dog up and they were very rude, no one was appologetic or wanted to speak to me. News flash! It is a customer service oriented business so you better work on that! I work in customer service in the beauty industry and would not ever treat a client in that manner. I went 20 minutes out of my way to Hughesville to a woman who was patient and understanding of my fear for my dog.

    I still go to Dr. Winton and Howie but as far as the grooming goes, I gave you a chance, you did not win me over. My recomendation would be go elsewhere.”

    “I have taken my Terriers many places before I found this place that ACTUALLY can do my terriers. I own an Airedale, Bedlington and Scottie. all come out looking sharp as can be. I am overly pleased with how my kids look and would reccomend this shop to anyone that has a rare breed...”

    “I have two boxer puppies that have been going to Dog Gone Beautiful for the past six years. Sandy, Carrie and the entire staff at Dog Gone Beautiful / Animal and Avian Hospital treat my boxers as if they were their own. My boxers are frequent visitors to the salon as they are groomed twice a month. Belanna and Hudson LOVE the time they spend with these outstanding professionals.     “My Joy is a Golden Retriever that flunked seeing eye school, she is beautiful and very needy. She has gone to Sandy at Animal and Avian since I got her several years ago. Everyone treats her so wonderful, she loves it so much there I have a hard time trying to get her to come back home. Sandy loves Joy as much as Joy loves her and all the girls make a huge fuss over her, they really care about all the dogs they groom. Joy comes home looking great, even gets her toe nails painted. They truly do treat her special as I am sure they treat all the animals special. They all seem to love all the animals. I took my previous Golden to them for many years also. Steve Winton is a very kind and caring vet, and takes extremely good care of all the animals. I have sent many people to him and everyone is pleased. I can't say enough nice things about Steve and Sandy and all the people at Animal and Avian Hospital.”

    “I tried four other groomers before going to Animal and Avian, and have stayed there for the last three years. Both Carrie and Laura have groomed my Portuguese Water Dog, Grace, with excellent results. They cut her perfectly to the breed standard; in fact I have never seen a Porty cut more perfectly. They are very loving to Grace, and she no longer hates being groomed. This is by far the best grooming service I have ever used.”

    “I have a toy poodle that I like to keep fluffy. Due to my lack of knowledge about grooming, I allowed my dog to become severely matted. The groomers at this shop explained to me that for my dogs comfort and health, she needed to be shaved. They helped me learn to properly care for my dogs hair. Now she looks great... fluffy and perfectly groomed. This is definitely the shop to go to.”

    “I was at the vets section of the Hospital/Grooming Salon today and I glanced over at the Grooming Area and saw alot of dogs just sitting there and relaxing not struggling around or anything just looked they were having a great time... I even took the time to make an appointment for my own pets to be groomed there because it looks like an Animal Spa - the pets are so relaxed.”

    “I have been taking my bichons to Laura at Animal and Avian for a long time and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They know at home when I say its time to go see Laura that they are getting there hair cut and they hop in the car and are all excited. Everyone there treats me and my dogs as family. I have set my friends with dogs to them and they are just as happy as I am. I will keep on referring because they are the best!!!”

    “We've used the Veterinary Services since 1993 or so, and are very pleased with Dr. Winton and his treatment. The folks at the grooming shop are another success story. They're so warm and friendly that it almost makes us feel like we're a member of their family. Our two dogs sense it also, because they've cottoned on to some of the staffers in a real big way. It's funny to see them wag their tails so enthusiastically (our dogs, that is) when they enter into the minstrations of these people. They love it immensely... and so do my wife and I.”

    “I was visiting there from Idaho and my dog got his eye badly scratched by a cat, I took him to this establishment and was treated great, and they also kept both of my dogs while I shopped. I was extremely pleased with the vet and the groomers. Very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back next time I go to Pennsylvania. Keep up the good work girls.”

    “I have been turned away from many shops due to my one dog being a pitbull, my shepherd is overly hyper, and my beagle cross is 14 years old, but this shop met with all of my dogs, took care of them, made them smell great, and helped me work with my shepherd. We got them on a regular schedule and now my dogs all LOVE this shop. I would recommend to anyone that truly cares how their dogs are treated.”

    “I took my 2 dogs there last week. I have a gorgeous Siberian Husky, and a mixed breed. The mixed breed was fine (although hair was quite uneven) The husky had several bald spots down her left side. When I inquired, I was told 4 different stories. Also treated extremely rude. The vet then covered up and talked above me so he would not have to listen to my concerns and complaints about his wife's business. BEWARE!!”

    “The veternary aspect has always been fantastic, however, we have had rude service from the groomer. Our dog was cut very short in the winter against our wishes and when it was pointed out for future reference, the groomer was very argumentative, suggesting that our puppy was very mean (bichon) and that we specifically asked that it be trimmed very short!”
